Cricut Cartridge: Art Nouveau: Project #9

Hey all!

So, today I started dabbling in mixed media and fell head over heels in LOVE with it! I love the lack of structure and the messiness, the texture and colors, and just about everything about it. It is also a wonderful opportunity to use some of the more complicated cuts from art Nouveau. The Cricut is the perfect companion for the mixed media artist because its images serve as excellent focal points and can me modified and customized easily.

Here Is used the peacock and printed and cut all the layers in various peacock shades.
Each layer is touched up somehow, with colored pencils, acrylic paint (ex. the bronze in the tail), and fine tipped sharpie (the feather details

I love steampunk and couldn't resist adding a few Tim Holtz gears and vintage watch parts.

I added bling to the tail using Swarovski crystals. Its hard to tell in the picture, but the crystals change color from bronze to green to fuschia depending on the light.

Ingredients:
  • 7 gypsies tissue paper
  • DCWV patterned paper
  • tim holtz tissue tape
  • black adhesive vinyl
  • tim holtz gears
  • vintage watch parts
  • sharpie fine tipped pen
  • acrylic paints
  • Cricut Art Nouveau Cartridge
  • silhouette cameo (for vinyl "beauty")
  • mod podge
  • swarovski crystals (on the tail)
