BBTB2 Garden Challenge

Hey All!

I'm here for another week as a designer over at the Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge Blog. This week's Challenge was to make a project with a garden theme and I was so excited to have an excuse to use the gazebo cut from my Cricut Freshly Picked Cartridge. I have a special place in my heart for white gazebos since I got engaged in one so I thought I would make a pretty little wedding or anniversary card.

The papers are from my "Something Old, Something New" digital paper set available on my Etsy shop HERE. I welded together two base shapes and then added the layers on top. I cut the flowers in two sizes and didn't cut the vines because I thought they might be too delicate at this size. I snipped the flowers to make the petals more pronounced and then used a stylus to curl them before layering and adhering them to the base. The banner is from the Cricut Craft Room Exclusives: Banners digital cartridge.

Be sure to check out all the other design team member's wonderful projects. Thanks for stopping by!

Babapuff and Mojo Monday #2

Hey All!

So I originally had two design ideas for this week's Mojo Monday so I thought I'd share the second one. This carriage image is from Babapuff's Babapuff Baby shop and comes with this princess set: Comment on this post for a chance to win $20 worth of products from one of their two shops!

I uploaded the carriage image to the silhouette design studio and traced parts of it separately and then laid the cut lines over the original image so the Silhouette would cut it out in layers. The polka dotted paper is also from Babapuff.

This little flower and leaves is one of my own designs. I just love how it turned out. I added details with Copic markers and added a little stamen that I bought from Michael's in the bridal section.

I also designed the hill shapes. I'm thinking of opening an Etsy shop to sell some of my Silhouette cut files and digi papers. Maybe design some papers that would coordinate with Cricut Cartridges. What do you think? How many of you use Silhouette or digital papers? I would (of course) offer lots of freebies and discounts to my loyal blog followers. I guess its something to think on...

Ingredients:
  • Cardstock: Conqueror
  • Diecutting Machine: Silhouette Cameo, Cricut Expression
  • Clipart (princess carriage): Babapuff Baby
  • patterned paper: polkadot (Babapuff), pink dots (Lori Whitlock)
  • Silhouette cuts: Hills, Flower, leaves (my designs : )
  • ribbon: Midori Dupioni
  • Cricut Cartridges Used: Cricut Craft Room Exclusives: Banners
  • Other: Stamen (Michaels), Pearls (Recollections), glitter glue (Stickles), Copic Markers

House Warming card

Don't forget to enter here for my Art Nouveau cartridge giveaway! Only one person has entered so far so your odds are pretty darn good. Giveaway closes on Friday.

Hey All!
I have been putting this card together in my head for over a week now and finally had time today to put it together. Don't you want to live here?

I used the darling house image from the April Showers cartridge and welded two of them together to make the card shape. I cut two front porches so I could make pop up the overhang thingy in a different color. The papers were all FREE (that's right, free!) digital papers available in the "freebies" section on jessicasprague.com. The set is called Strawberry Lemonade.

A super easy way to add instant dimension to your Cricut cuts is to ink all the edges. It covers up any white core in cardstocks (especially printed ones) and just helps add detail and charm.

The font is called Courier and was printed on my printer and then i used a CCR exclusive cartridge banner shape. Lining up the print and cut is a bit tricky but I love the results! you can probably get the same effect using your printer and Rubonz paper by Graphix.

I used a little brad and put it in the hole cut for the doorknob. Like I said, I want to live here : ).

  • cardstock: Conqueror
  • Patterned paper: jessicasprague.com (look for strawberry lemonade in the freebies section!)
  • Sentiment: Courier font
  • pearls: Recollections
  • other; copic markers, tim holtz distress ink (vintage photo), memento ink (rose bud, sunflower yellow), copic markers, diamond glaze, martha stewart glitter (for the heart)
